Personal Interests

My interests span science, philosophy, movies, music, and photography. Here is the collection of references to subjects of my immediate interest.

Since the invention of moving pictures, music has been an essential part of cinema art. Movie soundtracks provide emotional context to the film-watching experience. Over the years, I have realized that the quality of the music is a critical factor in the movie's success.

An average plot with great music makes for a memorable show. Bad music can kill the mood and render good acting useless. Everyone's musical tastes are different. I've collected some of the most fantastic pieces of music here.

It is nice to have a room dedicated to listening to music. Once you get a taste of quality hi-fi sound equipment, you begin to appreciate not only the beauty of the music but also the sophistication of the entire music production process.

I am not taking a side in the digital vs. analog debate. I prefer SACD to all other formats, but I also have some vinyl in my collection. Modern digital formats such as DSD are more than capable of capturing all the nuances of good sound as long as they are not butchered by the “mastering process.”

Applying the scientific method requires understanding the mind's limitations, critical thinking, application of logic, and, above all, a curious mind—a sincere desire to learn how nature works and how it is designed.

As Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” In our information-overflowing world, it is worthless to remember anything without finding logical and meaningful connections between things. If you fail to make such connections, you will lose yourself in a fast-changing world.

Every person is a universe created around one person - oneself. We all live in the virtual world we created. We interact with others through the images we create. Our knowledge is part of a much larger set of information. The collective aspect of human psychology is the key to using this knowledge safely.
